Applications for Buying Time Foundation grants are reviewed on a quarterly basis.

Before applying, we encourage all applicants to read our grant application guidance. This document explains who can apply, what grants are intended to support, and how applications are considered.

The Buying Time Foundation is a charitable foundation established to support children, young people and young adults affected by serious or life-limiting illness, and the families who care for them. Grants are funded through our charitable watch auctions and are awarded in line with the Foundation’s charitable objectives.

Applications are welcomed from main carers of a disabled or seriously ill child, young person or young adult; authorised representatives of registered charities supporting children, young people and young adults and their families living with serious illness or terminal diagnosis; and authorised representatives of registered charities undertaking clinical research to prevent, treat or alleviate serious illness in young people.

Grants are intended to be used directly for the benefit of children, young people and young adults. This may include meaningful experiences, practical or emotional support, care initiatives that improve quality of life, or clinical and medical research focused on improving outcomes for young people.

To ensure funds have the greatest possible impact, grants are not intended to support general organisational costs, administrative overheads, core running costs, or the production of promotional or fundraising materials.

Applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis by the Trustees. Each application is assessed against the
Foundation’s objectives, available funds and anticipated charitable impact. Trustee decisions are final.
