Description

Kindly donated by Dave Platts of Time Factors in memory of his uncle – Eddie Platts.  This Smiths Everest PRS-25 is one of the Sheffield-based company’s most popular models. A rare prototype, featuring a striking sodalite dial, this is one of only two examples ever produced.

Time Factors founder Eddie Platts was a pioneer of what would later become known as the microbrand watch movement, launching the Speedbird in 2001.  Sadly, Eddie passed away at the end of May 2026 following a long battle with cancer but his legacy will continue as Time Factors moves forward under the stewardship of his nephew, David.

British watch enthusiast and proprietor Eddie Platts, who founded Time Factors in 1996, started producing watches under the defunct Smiths brand name in 2012. Since then, Eddie revived the iconic name by releasing a highly sought-after collection of reissued vintage military style pieces and modern homage watches.
